Survey Survey on interest on participating in the regeneration of the former Lukiskes prison complex (stage I)
Turto bankas, the manager of Lithuanian state-owned real estate, is preparing for the regeneration and implementation of the former Lukiskes prison complex in Vilnius city centre and invites companies to participate in a survey aimed at identifying the interest, opportunities and conditions under which the private sector would agree to participate in such project.
Lukiskes prison was built to house nearly 700 inmates and occupies a sizeable area of almost 2 hectares of central Vilnius – next to Parliament, central business district and main high-street Gediminas avenue. The Complex consists of six buildings with total area of around 17,3 thousand square meters, which incorporates a prison, a hospital, administration buildings and the Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church.
The Government of the Republic of Lithuania approved the Feasibility Study of Lukiskes prison complex carried out by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania and Turto bankas. The Study provides the idea to adapt a part of the Complex to public needs (education and other public functions) and to develop the rest of the project with the support of private investments so that the Complex would best meet the needs of a multicultural Lithuanian society, ensure the preservation of historical memory, would be multifunctional and sustainable.
At the first stage of the survey, responses from participants regarding the interest in participating in this project and preferred forms of cooperation are awaited. To review the Feasibility Study (in Lithuanian) press here
The survey process is coordinated by Newsec on behalf of Turto bankas. We are waiting for your answers until April 8, 2021. If you have any questions, please contact us or +370 618 48709.
This invitation is non-binding and does not guarantee the participants' further participation in the process of implementation of the Lukiskes prison complex. The information provided by participants will not be disclosed to third parties.
